• Long-term strategic advisor to Transnet, a parastatal company responsible for South Africa's railways, oil pipelines and harbours: Internal and external marketing and communication relating to large infrastructure development projects.
• Development consultant with experience in the Southern African Development Community, Europe, Russia and as far a field as Alaska. Field of application: rural development, fishing industry, tourism industry, and spatial development initiatives.
• Director and coordinator of the Transboundary Protected Areas Research Initiative, an interdisciplinary research programme involving various academic institutions in southern Africa, Europe and the United States.
